Panera Green Goddess Dressing Recipe
Why isn't green goddess dressing sold separately?
Mainstream brands of green goddess are a joke, ranch dressing with green food coloring or some shit. If Panera sold GG dressing, I would buy it by the bucketful and eat it every motherfuckin day.

Because it's actually made in the cafe with fresh basil, which is probably why you enjoy it so much.

All well and good. I'd like to buy a bottle of it, happy to make a trip to the cafe to pick it up. I'd easily pay $20 for a bottle. Why isn't it sold this way? Does basil go bad? Pesto (for example) has a shortish shelf life, but I'd probably finish a bottle of green goddess within a week.

Not sure if it's a Panera standard or just something my store used to do, but we would sell 8oz containers of the dressing for the price of a soup cup, especially when catering orders would ask for 16oz of extra goddess. And yes it typically has a shelf life of 2 days, so selling it in stores would either compromise quality or taste.
